AI and Work: Report from Milan Digital Week 2025
Milan Digital Week 2025, held from October 1st to 5th, represented an important moment of discussion on AI regarding its impact on the creative, professional, and technological world.
The event "AI - work and training, developments, future AI agents," organized by The Innovation Group, focused on the radical evolution currently underway in the professional world. Through the analysis of real cases and strategic visions, crucial themes were highlighted: from ethics to productivity, from future prospects for companies to critical issues for workers who find themselves having to reorganize their tasks in an increasingly automated workflow. Significant was the event: "Skills that Matter: How GenAI is Changing Study and Work" by LIUC University, which discussed how generative AI is redefining training processes and professional dynamics. The focus is clear: digital skills and adaptability to changes now represent essential requirements to remain competitive in the job market, and universities must evolve their role by becoming true bridges between education and the professional world—an awareness that still struggles to gain ground in Italy.
"Fashion and Senses: When Technology Dresses Us" explored the crossover between AI and creative sectors, demonstrating how AI doesn't replace humans in the creative process but rather enhances creativity, evolving the tools at their disposal for artistic expression and product personalization. "Human & AI in Dialogue: Reinventing Work and Valorizing Talents" instead emphasized the importance of a targeted approach to collaboration between AI and workers' skills, presenting examples of how AI can enhance human talents, improve productivity by redesigning work environments, creating a more stimulating and less toxic climate through the study of workers' behaviors and their interaction with machines.
Milan Digital Week 2025 confirms that artificial intelligence in the future represents neither a reason for panic nor simply an opportunity to seize, but a structural transformation that requires careful study and strategic foresight. The main message concerns the importance of continuous training, the need to maintain constant dialogue between technological innovation and the human dimension, transforming challenges into concrete opportunities for professional and business growth—one of the pillars of Future Maastricht's vision.
